Trays are probably one of the most versatile decor pieces you can own.  Not only can you use them in their more traditional sense for serving, but they can be utilized in a number of other ways.  I have a great one from West Elm that sits atop my coffee table to corral odds and ends.  Trays come in all different shapes and sizes, for instance this rectangular teak tray from CB2 I use in my bathroom to organize my makeup brushes.  They are a great way to add order to a space that might otherwise look a little cluttered.  If you opted for an upholstered ottoman to sit in front of your couch, you can easily turn it into a functional table by adding a large tray.  Use a small one by the door to catch your keys, or a bigger one to add a playful pop  of color on a neutral table.  Any way you spin it, trays are great accessories that can play double and even triple duty in your home.  Here's a roundup of some of my favorites right now:
