Flea Market Finds

Moving has been SUCH a process, but I am finally making a little headway on all my unpacking.  I'll post some before, during and after pictures soon.  I just have to get to the after part!  I haven't really been purchasing anything big yet for the apartment, I still need to assess what my needs are in order to fully maximize the space, but I have gotten a couple of little things here and there.  I popped over to the Melrose Flea Market two weekends ago and scooped up this old thing:
It's rather beat up and in need of some TLC, but it's got great potential and was basically free (read $30).  It's also really sturdy.  If you were to probe further into that statement I would tell you that there may or may not have been a sizable 8 year old child climbing all over it just before I bought it.  Like I said, sturdy.

I found this post on Design Sponge on a bar cart redo which has given me faith in my elbow grease capabilities.  Here's the before and after of a similar job:

But like I said...I'm ready for the after!

GUESS WHAT GUYS!

I finally have my own apartment, allllll to myself.  It feels like a big step into a serious adulthood status.  I found a great little 1 bedroom apartment--it was the first place I walked into and said "I love it".  As in, I don't hate anything about it.  And believe me, that is no easy feat.  My requirements were hardwood floors (a big must have, I HATE carpeting), a full kitchen (there are so many bachelors), laundry on site, parking, a tub...the list goes on.  I was looking at studio apartments as well as 1 bedrooms.  I looked at so many places I would deliriously admire beautiful apartments with all of my requirements that were WAY out of my price range.  Finding a place is such a frustrating experience, especially when you're living alone, because you really want to enjoy coming home.  I was also working with a SERIOUS time crunch, and I won't get into details but I literally found this place at the absolute last minute.  Well, actually a friend at work found it and sent it to me, and for that I will be forever grateful.

SO!  Here are the details.  1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, hardwood floors, 3 walk in closets (OMG!), lots of storage space, close to work...it's perfect for me.  I will certainly be updating you as I make progress (but for that I need to make progress first!) with before and after shots.  For now, here are a couple shots I snapped prior to filling my place with boxes galore.

I can't WAIT to get everything unpacked and decorated!
